On a very sad note, we are down to 5 turkeys. We noticed Sunday that one of the turkeys (I don't know the name because they all look the same) was having trouble moving around. It turned out that he had a dislocated leg. We waited a couple days to see if he would be able to work around it but it was to hard for him to get food and water. I brought him into my Ag teacher, Mrs. Brummond, during class so she could take care of him because there was no way I would be able to. I admit there were many many tears both at home and school. I think this could be a problem come the show in February...

Cute <3
The other night my mom called me in to see what the turkeys were doing. One of the turkeys had riped off a piece of newspaper and was running around with it in his beak with all the other turkeys chasing him. You had to see it, it was so funny! Every once in a while her would drop it and try to pick it up but he was standing on it because it was so long, He would get frustrated and another turkey would grab it and it would start all over. My little turkeys get more entertaining everyday(:

Change
We decided that since this is my first year I should do something easier and a little less expensive. So instead I am doing 25 chickens and 5 turkeys! I get them when they are only one day old so they stay at our house for 3 weeks then you can choose to keep them at your house for the remaining 3 weeks or take them to the barn. This way I don't have to go to the barn before and after school everyday. It will still be around $300 when everything is added together so we are still looking for sponsors or add-ons. I am planning on doing chickens every year (plus another animal) because only the first year is expensive since you have to buy all the supplies. After you have everything you end up making money because you only have to show 3 chickens and 1 turkey and the rest you get to sell. I get the turkeys in October and the chickens in January.

Getting Started
I am super excited to start FFA this year! I have been looking forward to doing it ever since I knew what it was. I get to pick out my lamb on September 17th and will post pictures of him/her as soon as I can. Thanks again for all the help!
